書籍資訊 書名: How to Watch Football: 52 Rules for Understanding the Beautiful Game, On and Off the Pitch 作者:Tifo the Athletic 出版社:Particular Books ----- 網誌版:https://reurl.cc/AbNkEj 跨完年才後知後覺今年是男子世足年!推親朋好友入足球坑的時間又到了。如果只能推薦 一本足球書給剛接觸足球的朋友,這本會是我的首選。 Tifo是支擅長以簡潔動畫影片介紹足球大小事(易懂的賽事分析、時事與歷史懶人包等) 的團隊,於2022年11月出版了紙本版的足球懶人包——也就是200多頁的圖文書How to Watch Football: 52 Rules for Understanding the Beautiful Game, On and Off the Pitch。這本書維持了Tifo的一貫風格,以52個篇章、每篇章各4頁的簡潔圖文內容(扣除 標題頁,每個章節實際上只有兩頁)來帶領讀者認識足球運動場上場下最應該知道的52條 守則。 52條守則中,為首的是「看球賽時眼睛別跟著球跑!」從觀賞賽事時眼睛不要只盯著球跑 、為什麼開短的角球比想像中更有效率、換上防守球員不見得就是要加強防守、陣型介紹 、用簡單算數教讀者怎麼看xG(expected goals)等「場上」知識;也談轉會窗口如何運 作、怎麼估算球員身價、賣球衣真的能賺大錢嗎、青訓系統的重要性、球隊的主要收入為 何等「場下」知識;到介紹足球史上幾位影響深遠的人物,議題豐富,應該涵蓋了大部分 新手球迷想要知道的眉眉角角。 此外,從第34章(介紹現任賴比瑞亞總統George Weah,第一位也是目前唯一一位拿過金 球獎的非洲球員)、第47章、第48章(女足相關)、第49章(體育洗白)、第51章(改革 了非洲足協的球迷)與第52章(暖化對足球的影響)也可看出Tifo團隊對足球延伸出的種 族、性別、政治與氣候等議題的關懷。 藝術總監Alice Devine主導的插畫與配圖除了維持Tifo一貫生動清楚的風格,在講解角球 、邊線球、守門員時,配圖都有女性球員,其他章節的解說插圖也有呈現不同性別與膚色 的球員。Tifo以這些細微的體貼,展現了團隊的平權意識。 誠如此書開頭所言,「足球應該怎麼看」這個問題的正確答案是「愛怎麼看就怎麼看」。 How to Watch Football只是提供讀者一些如何欣賞賽事的角度,以及思考足球相關議題 時可能的切入面。足球應該怎麼看——等著每位讀者去發掘定義。 因為是寫給初次接觸足球的人,熟悉足球的讀者或許會覺得這本書有些寡淡——那就陪新 入坑的親朋好友一起讀吧!林欣楷在《我們的足球夢:從日治到戰後,臺灣百年足球記憶 》(2022)是這麼說的:「凡是在爭取政策補助與宣傳時,擺脫『足球沙漠』都是一個易 於理解和操作的符號。但反過來說,這也是形塑出一種只有小圈子不斷在努力的苦行者形 象,難以引發外界人士共鳴。世界盃觀眾、臺灣球迷、歐洲職業聯賽球迷、足球社群、休 閒運動者、移工足球,這些群體一再被劃分和區隔,即便有那麼多人都在踢足球,卻難以 被聯繫起來。」 距離夏天的世界盃還有幾個月,現在開始自己讀How to Watch Football、陪親朋好友上 老下小讀,或是讀了之後再以說書方式分享給左鄰右舍,六月看球時大家都說I know ball——反正看不懂的就一定是裁判眼花——四捨五入快轉一下,相信不久的將來台灣女 足男足就都能踢進世界盃會內賽了,台灣足球感謝你的支持。 52條觀球守則: 1.
